Description
This is the Nahua God Tezcatlipoca, as he was depicted by the Tlaxcaltecs. He wears a hip-cloth/skirt over his loincloth. The skirt a feminine garment and the loincloth a phallic garment shows his fertile and sexual nature in Nahua cosmology. Although he has a male identity and is frequently depicted as such, he does have a feminine counterpart and aspect as well. This type of hip cloth was sometimes worn without a loincloth by other 'male' Deities. But however it is worn, it only appears as a ritual garment. So it seems unlikely that it was worn by the actual people outside of ritual.

Love your work! I can never seem to get the word robe right when I try to draw from codex or other sources
